IKEA Singapore apparently has a very weird sense of humor about itself. Thankfully so. The brand that supplies (part of) the world with supposedly easy-to-assemble furniture has released a new ad, titled IKEA Halloween, just in time for the eponymous event, and it boldly implies that its new late operating hours will basically scar your children for life.
The ad sees another young Danny with distinctly 70s taste in attire making his way through the empty corridors of an IKEA store, all the while being teased by surrounding references to The Shining as imagined by director Stanley Kubrick (this may not be the last time you read his name on the site this week). As a big fan of the film, I dig it. And as someone who loves to see advertisers and brands do bizarre things in the name of promoting their products and services, I dig it even more. Nice job, IKEA Halloween.
