Rachel & Chandler Vs Windows 95 [Video]

Jennifer Aniston Matthew Perry Windows 95

Get ready for “The World’s First Cyber Sitcom”, you guys. I thought that Jarryd had found the throwiest throwback to the 90s of them all when he posted that video of Oprah interviewing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a full 40+ minute episode. I was wrong. Kotaku have topped that by a mile with this Windows 95 instructional video created by Microsoft and starring Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry at the height of Friends’ popularity. It. Is. Hilarious.

Matthew Perry has never been funnier than when he tries to make the line, “So this is where the magic happens, huh? The ground zero of personal computing. The nerve center of the world’s biggest software company.” sound like it is the most serious thing he has ever said. Well done, Chandler.

The video features a ton of wack-ass outdated 90s stuff, including a guy with a terrible fake Russian accent describing “plug & play”, a nerd who looks like Corey Feldman calling Microsoft’s network “your on-ramp to the information super-highway”, a bad Steven Seagal joke and a young Sam Huntington playing “Joystick Johnny”, a kid on roller blades who has “probably heard that the new multi-video support on Windows 95 makes games fast and cool”. Oh, and that Windows is compatible with DOS games like “Flight Simulator” (you know, that free game no gamer has ever actually played).

There’s a ton of this and it’s all worth watching, but most importantly, it’s really educational. After all, kids, “with Windows 95 you can impose your will on your PC and the world.”
