As part of Nickelodeon‘s International Animated Shorts Program 2013, South African animator Mike Scott has had his 2 minute masterpiece, MooseBox, finally chosen for development. Out of hundreds of entries worldwide, Mike Scott wowed audiences with this 8-Bit animation that I can only describe as weird and explosively hyperactive.
“What just happened and how the hell did I get here?” This question plagued my mind as I sat in the staffroom during my first day of work in Japan. Over the past 11 months, I have been in the process of applying to work as an English Assistance Language Teacher and now that I’m here, everything is happening so fast that I haven’t actually registered that I am on the other side of the world, far away from the comforts of what I call home.

I only came across this video today since it’s been making the rounds on social media, and if you haven’t seen it yet, hit the ‘play’ button immediately. Noah Ritter got interviewed at some county fair by WNEP-TV, and apparently he’s never been on live TV before. You could’ve fooled me, this kid has the soul of Riaan Cruywagen in him.

Anybody who knows me will know that Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim series is my absolute favorite comic series of all time. I also enjoyed Harry Potter enough, so when The Unusual Suspect made a trailer of the latter in an Edgar Wright kinda style, I had to see what it was about.
